Great blog on your switch to mac... I'm currently planning my switch over (When the Jan '08 MBPs come out) and wanted to thank you for all you've written here. I've found a few gems that will make my transition a little easier.

Congrats and welcome. A couple of words...think simple...it takes a while getting used to straightforward operation (seriously). Also, take a tour through system preferences and program prefs (finder included), you'll find a lot of easy customizations to make things more famliar and last, create a folder, call it "launcher" or similar and drag it to the dock. The put aliases (shortcuts, made with apple key and L) of your favorite files and apps in the folder. When you need one, click and hold on the "launcher' icon in the dock and a quick list will appear. Very convenient. Include an alias to your drive in that folder and you can "drill down' to any file very quickly.

Congratulations, I have also recently switched over, and there are a few things that are to be learned about the new system... but not as much as you would think. I have already transitioned everything I do to the Mac with the exception of pc games. so if you have any questions of how to do something you would normally rely on windows for, hit me up and I might be able to answer it for you. I have found that everything I could di in a windows machine I can do on a Mac as just as well if not better so it is a good choice, and often times more fun as I have found out in the past two weeks.

have fun and welcome to being a newbie again!
